Late Friday morning while driving near Franklin Park, I was able to
observe a sharp-shinnned hawk mounting a high-speed pursuit of a bird
which turned out to be House Sparrow. I was driving at about 30 mph
while I noticed a hawk flying roughly parallel to my direction and
then a quick dive under a parked vehicle ,re-emerging and grabbing
with its talons its meal and then a relaxed flight to a nearby tree to
begin the feast.
