We have started requiring that students in our secondary English teacher
certification program take an undergraduate course in the structure/grammar
of the English language as a prerequisite. We didn't anticipate that this
requirement would cause problems for applicants, but it turns out that very
few colleges in Western PA offer undergraduate-level courses in English
grammar.

Does anyone know of any online courses (at the undergraduate level) in
English grammar that students could take? I'd also be interested if anyone
knows of good online courses on the history and development of the English
language.

Thanks!
Amanda
