Hi all,
Since I was in the area, I checked out the north end of
Mosquito Lake to tick my Trumbull County American Avocet. I only had a few
minutes so after a quick scan through the hoards of shorebirds and waterfowl; I
left my number with Wesley Hatch who was also searching. Within five minutes of
leaving he called and said he relocated it. I returned to find that two non-breeding
American Avocets are now present.
Directions: From Hoagland-Blackstub Road, turn east onto Mahan-Denman Road
(gravel) and park where it dead ends at the lake. The avocets were to the north
a great distance so a scope is required.
