John Habig and I visited a few of the reservoirs in the western part of the state. We first went to Bresler reservoir west of Lima-Allen County where the 2 Eared Grebes and 1 Surf Scoter were still present. The number of Ruddy Ducks was up to 1300:
Mallard 5
Blue-winged Teal 5
Northern Shoveler 5
Redhead 7
Ring-necked Duck 5
Greater Scaup 1
Lesser Scaup 6
Surf Scoter 1
Ruddy Duck 1300
Pied-billed Grebe 8
Eared Grebe 2
American Coot 150
Double-crested Cormorant 1
At Ferguson-Metzger reservoirs in Lima we again saw a Surf Scoter (another female).
Northern Shoveler 1
Greater/Lesser Scaup 2
Surf Scoter 1
Ruddy Duck 360
Pied-billed Grebe 2
American Coot 23
Dunlin 8
We then went to the Findlay reservoir where we saw the previously reported adult Lesser Black-backed Gull, a Common Loon, yet another female Surf Scoter, and a Red-breasted Merganser.
Our final stop was Indian Lake-Logan County where at least 2 of the Franklin's Gulls were still present at the Old Field Beach area.
