Took a drive around 3:30 Sunday to see what might be on the WaterMark
Quarry. No luck on one lone Pie billed grebe. On the way home I spotted
a swan on a small pond behind the condos at the NW corner of Trabue and
Riverside drive in northwest Columubus. When i drove in there is a path
at south end of the condos that leads to the lake. There were 9 Mute
swans there on a small pond that surprisingly had no ice on it. I wonder
if they've been there all year and are pets or if the Mute Swans
congregate during the winter. I've seen 2 on the pond on OSU golf course
for the last couple of months.
As i drove up through Griggs is saw the usually mallards, ring billed, and
canadians, but i did see a pair of wood ducks. Haven't seen woodies for a
while.
Any ideas??
