This morning while filling my bird feeders, I found a saw-whet owl. I went
to fill a feeder and as I raised my hand to lift the lid I was startled to
see something on the feeder. I reacted by jerking my hand back and saw that
it was a saw-whet. The fast movement of me jerking my hands were enough to
scare it as it flew away. I believe that if I hadn't reacted, I could have
even grabbed the bird as it was not initially moving. A check after work
failed to turn up the bird.
