Ohio. That is a very good bird for Ohio and I wondered if anybody has been there to try and confirm its presence???? 8-8:30 am Monday, October 24, one merlin was preening in the tree, exactly where Ms. Schmidt said it was. A very cooperative bird, sitting in the un-leafed top of the tree, and even turning as it preened so that all its features could be appreciated.
