It was a very calm peaceful morning. Winds were southerly but barely enough
to create a ripple on the surface. This made it easy to pick out birds on
the water at a great distance. This made for a great morning for spotting
horned grebes and common loons. They were moving east on the lake all
morning. There was a single red-throated loon. It was actually one of the
first birds of the morning. It was on the lake and heading east. The only
other bird of note was a single snow bunting.
