I rode up with Ryan G. to Conneaut this morning. We were there about 9:30 - 11:30 AM. When we arrived, a juv. peregrine falcon was standing on the east end of the sandspit. Very few gulls were around. After the falcon flew off some gulls came back to the spit; after a short search 1 adult LITTLE GULL was picked out from the 100+ Bonaparte's gulls present. There was no shorebird movement today. We did do a bit of poking around for migrant songbirds on the spit, with some success. Also seen this morning: 10 Am. wigeon, 2 green-winged teal, 3 black-crowned night-herons, flyby merlin, semipalmated plovers, the 2 continuing AM. AVOCETS, greater & lesser yellowlegs, pectoral sandpipers, first-cycle lesser black-backed gull, 2 great black-backed gulls, common tern, tree swallow, marsh wren, palm warbler, blackpoll warbler; song, swamp, and white-throated sparrows. Along Rte. 7 in Ashtabula Co. we saw wild turkeys, red-tailed hawk, Am. kestrel,
and Am. pipits. Craig Holt, Lowellville
