I birded the lakefront from Conneaut Harbor to Fairport Harbor. There were
some nice birds, but much of the day was slow.
Conneaut Harbor- Nothing of note. There were a lot of mergansers and a few
scaup in the harbor. There were a few gulls on the mudflat, but nothing of
note. I had three turkey vultures flying along the lake in a pretty heavy
snow squall. That was kind of unusual.
Ashtabula Harbor- The black-tailed gull was on the blue building. It ended
up flying down somewhere on the ground amongst the buildings. I also saw
one snowy owl on the tracks in the western end of the rail yard. A female
long-tailed duck flew by Lakeshore Park. Not much else of note.
Geneva State park- the only birds of note were a red-headed woodpecker and
a few flyby snow buntings.
Fairport Harbor- nothing of note
