I spent the morning at Killdeer Plains. Highlights included 10 Greater White-fronted Geese at Pond 33, in the middle section, along with about 130 Tundra Swans (along with about a half-dozen Trumpeters). The eastern impoundment was loaded with American Wigeons and Gadwalls, and Northern Pintails were also very common.
Other birds of note:
Tree swallows and a Red-headed Woodpecker at the pond east of the upground reservoir ( itself basically empty)
Numerous Red-tailed Hawks
Singing eastern towhees
Lots of Green-winged Teal
One American Pipit on Washburn rd
Good Birding,
