Hi all,
While leading a walk at Geneva State Park this morning, our group had a lone adult male Red Crossbill fly over. I heard it coming, which readied us for its appearance. The bird had the good manners to fly right over our heads, its gorgeous red plumage glinting in the morning sun.
I suspect this won't be the last of our Red Crossbills here in Ohio this fall.
