Margaret has drawn my attention to this annual AWP literary competition.

We have submitted in previous years but Margaret is right that it would be good to get into the process of selecting students whose work we submit earlier than the last minute.

From reading the guidelines my sense is that we can submit work by both graduate and undergraduate students and that we are not obliged to identify them in either respect. So, this heads up is for everybody to keep and ear and eye out for really striking work(s). It's good for our students and it's good for the program, i hope.

Could we agree a deadline of the Monday at the start of Thanksgiving week  -- Monday 19th November?
