Some of you will know Frances Chapman, an ALSB member and a colleague of 
Darren Charters' and mine at a university affiliated with Waterloo, St. 
Jerome's University.

It has just been announced that Frances has been appointed as a faculty 
member at the first new law school created in Ontario in many, many 
years. This is at Lakehead University which is in Northern Ontario and 
it is a really exciting opportunity for Frances -- to be on the ground 
floor of an important new initiative in Ontario.  I have no doubt that 
there was stiff competition for these first hirings.
