I haven't seen any reports on this list of late about large swarms of chimney swifts this month so I thought I'd share what I've observed of late:
On 8/8 at 7:35 p.m. I had a swarm of 70+ swifts over my front yard in western Hamilton county, and another flock of 30+ birds on 8/10.
Tonight, 8/21, while driving home, I noted a large swarm of 100-200+ swifts funneling into a smokestack and swirling about on both sides of Queen City Ave. I have saved this smokestack as one of my locations on e-bird and at the following Google maps link:
