Check out the trailer on this--another bird movie that appears to be
largely positive! I have to say I laughed at the memories of those awkward
teenage birding years!!
Cheers
Dave

Subject: [Birdedlist] Exciting New Bird Outreach Tool?

Hello fellow bird educators -

Many of us work very hard to build public engagement with birds, nature,
and conservation. We develop programs and events, produce literature and
website, exploit social media to the best of our abilities, and spend
countless morning leading walks. Each of you are heroes who are shaping
the future of birding and bird conservation in North America. Your efforts
have impact a young child who sees their first hawk, a retiree who
discovers the joy of birding, a family that falls in love with the
outdoors, or a teacher whose mind is opened to the power of nature for
their students - all through something YOU did to spark that fire.

Pete Seeger, the legendary fold singer who recently passed away, wrote "If
I had a hammer". His lyrics could describe all of your ongoing efforts to
bring people together through birding and for bird conservation.

All too rarely we are fortunate enough to have a bird outreach tool handed
to us on a silver platter. I believe the upcoming movie A Birder's Guide
to Everything could be one such tool. If we utilize this opportunity
effectively, it would not be Seeger's hammer, nor would it even be a
standard power tool. Rather A Birder's Guide to Everything has the
potential to be a bulldozer for bird education.

I invite you to view the movie's trailer:

In the coming weeks, I will post a link to some ways that we can use A
Birder's Guide to Everything to engage non-birders with our passion, joy,
and concern for birds and bird conservation.

I would love to hear what others think about this upcoming film!
