Dear Chemistry Educators and Researchers, 


After all this frigid weather, a conference in Georgia during the summer sounds pretty nice. We are now completely all thawed here in GA and can resume the conference planning for ChemEd 2015. Due to the ice and snow we received over this past week we have experienced some delays in getting our registration open. So the good news for you is that our abstract submission deadline has been extended to March 6, 2015. Please consider sharing your favorite activity, lab, or teaching practice with the broader chemistry education community. 

This biennial conference is the largest of its kind, bringing together dedicated educators involved in high school and introductory chemistry from across North America. Educators are immersed in a setting facilitating collaboration, support, the exchanging of ideas, and inspiration over a period of five days. Demonstrations, hands on labs, and workshops, and chemistry sessions are among other activities seeking to further develop teachers in the chemistry field. The conference has grown over the years and has ranged from 400-800 participants. See the attached flyer for a list of guest speakers. 

To submit an abstract, go to < https://kennesaw.co1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_eb5gQQ4Al9ietgx > and log in to the ChemEd 2015 Abstract Submission System. The Abstract Submission System can also be accessed through the webpage for the Chem Ed 2015: < http://ccpe.kennesaw.edu/chemed/submissions/ > 

To provide an opportunity to have as many people present as possible, only 3 presentations will be accepted for each lead presenter. There are 4 presentation types to choose from for each abstract submission: 1) Presentation; 2) Workshop; 3) Laboratory; 4) Computer-based Workshop. You will need to submit a separate application for each abstract submitted. Titles should be entered in sentence case and be 150 characters or less (capitalize only the first letter of the title, any proper nouns or acronyms, and the first letter following a colon; do not end titles with a period). Abstracts should be 500 characters or less. 

You will also need to choose a conference strand that the abstract would fit into as well as what audience your abstract would be best suited for. 

Following this registration will open on March 9, 2015. Early registration will run through May 1, 2015.
