I was out on a cold windy afternoon birding several sites in Wayne County.
I started at Shreve Fishpond where there were 7 Bonaparte's gulls, about 28
dunlin and I think one least sandpiper, and two greater yellowlegs.
The big pond on Cemetery Rd is now full of water again. There were a few
groups of waterfowl there including about 25 each of gadwalls and
shovelers, 4 mallards, 6 green-winged teal, 5 ring-necks, 3 buffleheads,
and 4 pied-billed grebes.
There was not much in the Wilderness Rd lake (which is now back to a lake),
but west of the farmhouse in the far back of the large field was a group of
about 55 tundra swans. Randy Rowe, Wooster
