Given the current Arctic temperatures prevailing here along the Lake Erie
shoreline, have there been any sightings of Ptarmigans in this region?
We had one informal report of a "chunky, chicken-sized, all white bird with
a black tail (while in flight)." The bird was spotted in a frozen
agricultural field flying toward a wooded area. Snowy Owls have been seen
in this part of southern Huron County.
