I birded at Conneaut harbor today from 6:30 AM till 12:30 PM.  Although there were some lulls during the morning, birds were coming and going and moving around much of the time.  It was a pretty good shorebird day with 10 species recorded.  Highlights were: wood ducks, 9 common mergansers, double-crested cormorants, least bittern, green heron, bald eagles, 3 black-bellied plovers, 11 semipalmated plovers, whimbrel, 10 sanderlings, 3 least sandpipers (first juv.), pectoral sandpiper, 13 semipalmated sandpipers, short-billed dowitcher, lesser yellowlegs, the first juv. ring-billed and herring gulls, Caspian tern, belted kingfisher, 2 e. kingbirds, purple martins, 40 bank swallows, and 7 yellow warblers (some were definitely migrants).  Craig Holt, Lowellville
