If I could add to Jon's update about Nimisila Reservoir--please keep in mind that the campground is now open year-round and only registered campers are supposed to be back there. I personally spoke with a Summit Metroparks ranger a week or so ago, and he gave me permission to go back since there were no campers that day, but in general, please be prepared that if you go in, you may be asked to leave.

Hello!
I was able to take advantage of the glorious weather in NE Ohio yesterday and check a few spots.
In Stark County, I spent over 3 hours birding Sippo Lake, primarily on the trails north and south of the marina. Right away, I heard a Blue-headed Vireo. 6 different Hermit Thrushes were working the leaf litter at the higher spots and Yellow-rumped Warblers were working the trees along the lake. Ruby-crowned Kinglets were singing and foraging in their energetic way. Over by the Exploration Gateway building, I had 3-4 Virginia Rails and a Sora in the cattails at the bridge between EG and the marina. By the dam, I had a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and another RC Kinglet. Chimney Swifts were flying overhead.
At Nimisila Reservoir in Summit County, I heard and saw my first Pine Warblers and Yellow-throated Warbler. This lake has been a go-to for years for both of those species. Pine can typically be found around parking area C-1 and C-4, and YT Warblers at C-4 and the campground. Kinglets and Gnatcatchers were also present.
Happy birding!
