I helped with a section of Rowe woods during the Cincinnati cbc I believe was
the count circle name. A morning walk on a couple of their trails had us seeing
the usual. Loads of Woodpeckers! Red-bellied narrowly edged out Red-headed
as the most numerous. 16 to 15! Only sparrows were White throated and Song.
Plus Junco and Towhees. I have been seeing Tree Sparrows around lately.
Not on our section of the cbc today though. Most water was frozen - limiting
species. No kingfisher for example. For our group. Pine Siskin still around the
main feeders at the Visitors center. Someday an Evening Grosbeak will
show up!
A very nice - but cold.... - morning! Good birding all.
