Is a Long-tailed from the pics. Kudos to those excellent photographers
there! I wish I had seen it fly. Just perched for me. I wish I knew
Jaegers better. Even living and birding in NJ, it was basically Parasitic.
I was back there visiting and took a pelagic. Did I see Jaegers?
No...... I haven't been in Ohio a year yet - and I have all three jaegers!
I sure hope for better looks at all three over the coming years. I want to
look at books for Jaeger pics. See if my perched on the water look
was good enough for me! I like to see all the field marks. I am more
lenient with jaegers.... Like hummers that need to be banded for a
firm id!
I tried Lost Bridge again for any wandering birds. No. Caspian Terns
were nice. Some Purple Martins there. No shorebirds for me today here
except Killdeer.
The birds from yesterday were probably not Ida birds I was told. And
makes sense. Ida is still far away today! Just birds caught up in other
storms and fronts.
I hope the front clears for some passerines Wed.
Good birding all.
