I took a NJ birding friend around locally this morning. She was visiting family here.
Only day we could do it...... Sunny edges would have helped! The usual Bay breasted,
Tennessee, Cape May Warblers. Armleder - Connector trail. My favorite area here -
with sunny edges! Sorely lacking this morning. We had to work for every bird.....
Then Fernald - another birder had a Gray cheeked Thrush. And we had a migrant
flock near the start of the Shingle Oak trail. From the parking lot. Only it was deep
and try as we could, we couldn't get the birds to an edge. Black and white here.
The Lodge Pond is perfect water levels for shorebirds. Thankfully as not much
else wet around! Snipe, both Yellowlegs, Pecs here.
I hit Ellis wetlands on my way home. Bone dry.... not good!
Good birding all. I can't figure the fronts and wind direction out. But I will be out
this weekend!
