Since Denison has been so bereft of birds lately, I decided to try Lobdell which ended up being a pretty good choice. I picked up some January birds, particularly sparrows, that I was missing including a small group of Tree Sparrows and at least one lovely Fox Sparrow; otherwise, just White-throated and Song. I also saw a Pileated WP as well as a Red-shouldered Hawk fly across the road on the way there. There were a number of bluebirds around as well as decent numbers of robins.
One Black vulture cruised over & I’ve been seeing them at Denison and near my house regularly. A couple TVs.
Other WPs: Downy, Red-bellied, flicker. O/w, just the usual goldfinches, chickadees & titmice plus Carolina Wrens.
Had a couple towhees at Denison yesterday.
