I’ve been pretty lazy about my Jan 100 list altho I’m always rather casual about it (& thus, not come close to 100!) so I ventured out late morning to these 2 spots.
At the Fish Hatchery, I found the Greater White-fronted Geese that have been reported there recently. I saw at least 5 and there might have been a couple more. Many geese were snoozing & w/ the backlighting plus viewing thru the fence, I might have missed some. Several Great Blue Herons were also there along with hordes of Canada Geese & some Ring-billed Gulls. I viewed the geese from the road thru the fence— I didn’t walk around the ponds.
But I dipped on the Lesser Black-backed Gulls at Buckeye Lk—just many Ring-billeds. Did pick up a Belted KF at the spillway. Only ducks were mallards. Wind was brisk off the lake.
