The little bit of research that I've been able to devote to this problem
indicates that the problem occurs on messages that have no lines of text in
them.  I believe that most of these messages were created as part of the
problem with the old NEWS program.  They should flush themselves out of the
system soon, but I would still like to correct the problem if possible.
 
Again, if user's identify specific message numbers and newsgroups where
this problem occurs, I'd like to know about them.  The more evidence I
have, the easier it is to diagnose the problem.
