Users of the MIAVX1, MIAVX2, and MIAVX3 systems (as well as some of the
other systems using NNTP) may notice a sluggishness when accessing NEWS.
This is due to a problem in our NEWS database.  This problem has caused our
NEWS database to grow to an unusually large size and, due to the large
number of records to be searched, has slowed down access to NEWS.
 
NEWS will be unavailable tonight from midnight to 8:00AM to fix this
problem.
