At George Mason University we no longer have departments; when we did
have departments, law was housed with Accounting probably because of
the CPA exam connection. When I came here in 1978 we had 5 full-time
law faculty and quite a few adjuncts; now we have three full-timers
(counting me as Assoc. Dean) and also use 3-4 adjuncts per term. I
expect our undergraduate program to be "reformed" soon and that will
probably lessen our need for adjuncts.
