1. Congratulations on developing a strategic plan.
2. I would like to submit two ideas for consideration:
        a. MBA education is seriously deficient in not requiring
a minimum of 6 hours of "advanced" legal topics: perhaps one course
that provides an "advanced level" survey of legal environment and commercial
law topics (a course that assumes completion of Legal Environment) and
one course covering legal, ethical and international topics related to the
student's major area of concentration: management,
finance, marketing, etc.
        b. One of our strategic goals should be to forge close relationship
with corporate counsels through their American Corporate Counsel Association,
and other "business" organizations such as Chamber of Commerce, National
Association of Manufacturers and National Federation of Independent
Businesses. These organizations recognize that proper legal and
ethical education for business employees can reduce corporate liability.
3. I urge debate of these two proposals for addition to our
strategic plan.
4. Thank you. Chuck Stowe, Associate Professor, College of Business
Administration, Sam Houston State University. 409-294-1287.
