Marianne DelPo was having trouble posting this to ALSBTALK (technology
glitch); so she forwarded the message to me and I am posting it for her.
Responses should be directed to her personally @ [log in to unmask]

I am developing a new course this summer on "Race and the Law". This is
the second in a trilogy of courses that I am working up as part of the
undergraduate non-business law curriculum at Bentley College. The first
course was/is "Gender and the Law". In keeping with the theme of the
trilogy, I am seeking a text which will provide some chronological
treatment of the law as it affects/addresses racial issues in this
country. I would like to begin with the slave codes and come forward so
I seek both statutory and case law. I have a variety of reprints but no
book. Any suggestions? Syllabi you are willing to share? Any input,
including ideas/suggestions for the gender course--which is still
evolving--would be greatly appreciated.
