The downtime for Rose was to have been 5am-9am (not pm) Friday morning, but
it was cancelled when it turned out to be unnecessary.  My initial WAG (wild
ass guess) is that NNTP was performing a maintenance routine and just wasn't
available when you tried to access it.  But we'll find out for sure on Monday.
