Just a short piece of info for all of you who were in Quebec. Remember
the cable car that runs between the lower city and the Chateau? Remember
looking back when you were almost at the top and deciding that since it
had never fallen before it was unlikely to this time? Well you were
right and wrong. It didn't fall when you were on it but a few days ago
the cable on one of them did snap and the emergency brake didn't work and
the cable car had completed 90 percent of its trip to the top and.... it
didn't do the passengers much good. Remember that when you next visit
Pittsburgh and decide to go one of those cable cars, or Niagara Falls or
wherever else your adventures might take you. I gather Otis Elevators,
the maintainers of this particular vehicle, is "examining it closely", as
are many others.
