The MiaVX1 cluster began having severe performance problems on Thursday,
March 6 starting at around 2:30pm and continuing until about 3:30pm.
During this time users may not have been able to connect to the system. If
they were able to connect, the response time would have been extremely
slow.

This seems to be related to the problems that we had about 2 weeks ago.
DEC is continuing to investigate the problem and we are now running
additional monitoring software to help us determine more about the problem
if it reoccurs. DEC believes this to be a unique problem (they haven't
encountered it before).

Complications from this problem caused the system to stop accepting new
connections on Friday, March 7 at around 2:00pm. This problem was resolved
within about 10 minutes of the first report of the problem.

MCIS appreciates your patience during these problem. As we discover more
about the cause of this problem, we'll post updates to this newsgroup.
