The TIAA-CREF pension fund tax is part of the "tax saving" bill passed by
the House,  but is not part of the version passed by the Senate.   Is there
any change of deleting it in the Conference Committee.   If not,  I
encourage members to encourage Pres. Clinton to exercise that "item
veto"  authority  (which at least for the time being is within his power).
This budget is supposed to be "pro-education.".
