Dear list,
I'm just curious if anyone can help me out on a question
here. Between the outbreak of hostilities in September, 1914 and
and the uneasy peace of 11 November, what was London's general policy
on soldiers drinking in public houses? I've found
that numerous publicans were prosecuted for serving men in
uniform. Was this the case in other parts of the Empire as well?
