Hello everyone,
I would like your commentary on the following question I composed and do not
know the answer...
Was it the right to vote and the new social standing that women gained from
it that gave them the courage to drink along side men for the first time (in
the speakeasies)? Or was it that the new institution of the speakeasy with
no rules yet established, that brought them in for a drink? Or was there
some other social disintegration in our society as a whole that brought
women to the bar?
Any comments, clarifications or corrections?
Thanks!
