I've recently come across some remarkable Gothenburg Scheme surviving
institutes in Scotland which have a good website. The Prestoungrange
Gothenburg ( locally called "The Goth") dates from 1908. It was built in
a former coal mining area of Scotland, East Lothian, not far from
Edinburgh.

The Goth has links with Goteborg, Sweden, where the Gothenburg Scheme
began. You can read about this on the website and in a pdf history
downloadable from the site. There are "Goths" also at Newtongrange and
