Shirl:
I haven't heard a thing about that.  I do know that Kodak is not making the large size film, that Clyde Butcher and other photographers use.  Kodak will make a limited run, of this film, for these photographers but the quantity is up to Kodak and is more than they would buy.  I heard this from Clyde himself, not that he is a personal friend, but at a lecture he gave at the Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale.
Film is here to stay, in my opinion.  Maybe not for commercial photography but for the fine artist, I think film will stay even if a digital darkroom is used.  Nikon still makes a manual camera; the FM10.
So buy a point and shoot and have fun.

mentioned to a friend that I needed to buy a new point and shoot camera because I broke mine - she answered back that that may not be a good idea as she heard kodak is no longer producing film after 2006?  true?  cause if it is - seems like archives will take on a whole other spin, picture wise - for those of us that aren't digitized as of yet.  she did think that fugi (i hope) will still be producing film - I own 4 slrs.
