Can you please forward this message to the Miami SWE group? I am a member of the Advisory Council to the Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Department at Miami, and one of my goals is to develop a relationship between MME and the laboratory in which I work (Air Force Research Laboratory, Materials and Manufacturing Directorate). I would like to let the Miami SWE members know that we have openings every year for summer students. My current job is in metals processing, and I usually can request one student for the summer. This year's summer student list has already been submitted. There is one Miami student on it (not a SWE member), but I have not gotten final approval yet. If there are students interested in working with materials related technology in a laboratory setting for the summer next year, please have them contact me at least by January. I can't promise a position, of course, but I can at least recommend particular students. In my Section, we are more interested in people who are energetic and willing to work and less interested in their actual experience. You can contact me by email or phone. Note that I will open this invitation up to the entire department, but I wanted to especially make sure that SWE members know about it. Thank you! Mary Mary E.
