The Palladium-Item newspaper in Richmond, Ind., is currently seeking an education beat reporter. The job entails generating stories about schools in the Wayne County, Ind., area--covering school board meetings, attending school events, writing education issues stories as well as features and breaking news. The Palladium-Item is a Gannett newspaper and could be used as a stepping stone to larger papers in the company--the Cincinnati Enquirer and the Indianapolis Star in the region or USA Today on a national level. After interning at the P-I as a Miami student, I started work as a beat reporter in September 2003. I have found it to be a place where I have been able to get good experience and lots of clips.
