The Art of Processing Manuscript Collections

Description

This class will focus on making day-to-day decisions in arranging and describing manuscript collections including developing processing work plans, basic finding aid elements, identifying common arrangement schemes for particular types of collections, physically organizing materials, and basic preservation practices during processing. The workshop will also focus on the essential elements of a finding aid, applying descriptive standards, and the creative construction of container lists.
