Does anyone know any independent tests or have an opinion on which
is preferred in a stable, climate controlled environment: jewel boxes
or "Corrosion Intercept" technology sheets and their ilk? (Yes, I
know "Corrosion Intercept" jewel boxes are available. My budget does not
permit their purchase.)

I have always understood that the "bump" on a cd (or dvd) jewel box
helps prevent scratches and affords some protection from chemical
interactions. However, I can't recall or find an exact source. If the
jewel box's plastic is inert, how much off-gassing can there be?

Any information on this would be helpful.

THANKS.
