The National Anthropological Archives, Smithsonian Institution, seeks an experienced digital imaging specialist to produce professional quality digital images for research, online exhibits, and commercial image sales to the public. Responsibilities include managing imaging projects; digitizing historical photographs, manuscripts and works of art; managing digital assets and associated metadata in Smithsonian digital asset management systems and image databases; linking digital images to their associated catalog records in the Smithsonian's online public access catalog; and maintaining quality-control of digital images. Starting salary of $44,856 includes health insurance, retirement plan, commuting benefits, generous vacations, paid holidays, family friendly leave, a tax-deferred savings plan, as well as annual performance and cost-of-living increases.
