Andy:

Another good source for advice is Tawny Ryan Nelb, (Nelb Archival

of architectural records...

Please note this book is out of print and is fairly expensive. SAA
keeps it in their catalog of books for sale but never has it in stock.
After trying to order it from several sources (including Amazon, B&N,
etc.) with an 8+ week timeline, I finally found it through abebooks.com.
The going rate is between $77-$130. The current rate for a used copy
on Amazon is $291!

  Good luck in your search.

I would recommend "Architectural Photoreproductions: A Manual for
Identification and Care" by Elenore Kissel and Erin Vigneau. It is an
excellent resource and all of your questions are covered in it.

Subject: blueprints

  Dear Colleagues,

I am looking for some advice regarding the storage, handling and
safekeeping of blueprints now in a flat file. I seem to have several
types and some are less than blue, while others are brown and gray. I'm
not sure if various types should be co-mingled and what non-acidic
paper(s) should be used for separating items.

The oldest is a 1936 WPA blueprint of our old broadcast tower and
would be great to display if done properly.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Feel free to contact me off
the list.

  Andy
