Wells Fargo is seeking to fulfill an entry-level open position of Assistant Archivist to work in its Historical Services Department.

Reporting to the Archive Manager, the Assistant Archivist will:

• Appraise, process, arrange, and describe new archival collections.
• File and re-file archival materials.
• Perform holdings maintenance tasks.
• Provide research and reference service.
• Stabilize incoming collection materials.
• Maintain inventory of archival supplies.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successful completion of collegiate courses in archival studies, museum studies, history, or related field.

• Minimum 1 year experience working in archives or with archival collections.
• Experience processing archival collections and creating finding aids.
• Knowledge of archival theory and practice.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Meticulous attention to detail and follow-through skills.
• Must be physically able to climb stairs and lift boxes above head, some weighing up to 40 lbs.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Degree in archival studies, museum studies, history, or related degree.
• Experience working in a corporate archives or with collections of business records.
• Working knowledge of Past Perfect collection management software.
• Experience working with electronic records.
• Knowledge of new technological and methodological developments in the archival field.

 

SALARY

Salary is dependent upon qualifications.  Salary range is $35,000 - $40,000.
