The Tidewater Chapter of ARMA International presents its Spring Seminar: Disaster recovery for a digital age May 31, 2006 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Great Wolf Lodge, Williamsburg, VA This workshop will explore the impact of technology on vital records programs and the challenges it presents to contingency planning for electronic records. Topics covered include the elements of a vital records protection program, the processes to develop a vital records program, the concept of business continuity and the tasks necessary to develop & implement a business continuity plan for electronic records and information, the elements of electronic records and information recovery and the tasks necessary to restore electronic records and information Cost: $125 per person. Speaker Virginia A. Jones, CRM, FAI is principal of VAJones Associates, a records and information management consulting and training firm in business for 20 years. Her background includes hands-on operation, management, consulting, writing, teaching and training experience for over 39 years in the records and information management field. She is also the Records Manager for Newport News Dept. of Public Utilities. Ms. Jones is very active in AIIM and ARMA and has served on several standards committees for both organizations, including the ANSI standard, Vital Records: Identifying, Managing, and Recovering Business-Critical Records. Ms. Jones has also authored several books and numerous articles on records and information management concerns, including the ARMA publication, Emergency Management for Records and Information Programs. Ms. Jones is a Fellow of ARMA International and is also a current member of the Institute of Certified Records Managers(r).
