Duties/Responsibilites:

The Data Entry Archivist will assist in the sorting, arrangement, weeding, and description of the papers of Congressman Richard A. Gephardt. The Data Entry Archivist will be responsible for entering box and folder lists into the Gephardt Papers project database and will finalize box and folder labels.  The position reports to the Head Project Archivist.

Education/Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

•BA in history, public history, or related field.

•Excellent computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Master’s degree in American History or related field.

•Familiarity with current technologies used in library and archives settings.

•Archival training or experience in processing manuscript and/or archival collections.

•Excellent analytical, collaborative, and interpersonal skills.

•Strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills.

•Familiarity with bibliographic tools (MARC, DACS) and databases for the description of archival collections or the ability to quickly learn new software.

•Ability to handle large, heavy boxes.

•Ability to reach shelves and utilize ladders.
