Oglethorpe University seeks a dynamic,
service-oriented Reference Instruction Librarian & Archivist who will report
to Director of the Philip Weltner Library to work in a collaborative environment
in a small academic library.
Minimum Qualifications:
BA required, MLS
degree from an ALA accredited program preferred. Experience with library
instruction; experience or coursework in special collections management;
knowledge of digitization and scanning technologies; working knowledge of
webpage design and authoring; proficiency with any flavor of graphics software
and desktop publishing software; familiarity with OSX preferred.

skills; ability to work cooperatively with faculty, students and staff;
willingness and ability to incorporate emerging technologies into instruction
and reference services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1.
Provide leadership to grow, sustain and evaluate the library's instructional
program in support of the University's academic needs.
2. Deliver reference
and instructional services to a diverse user population and the reference desk,
online and in classroom settings.
3. Collaborate with team members to create
and deliver instructional web content.
4. Organize, maintain and provide
access to the archives.
5. Participate in the development of an integrated,
university-wide information literacy program.
6. Contribute to collection
development.
7. Remain current on emerging job-related technologies.
8.
Perform other duties as assigned.
