LexisNexis seeks a product manager to apply vision and business acumen to develop historic collection products for sale in the North American academic market. Responsibilities include identification of archival collections suitable for microform and digital imaging in topical areas including American studies and history, international studies, and social science. Collection acquisition objectives will focus on both the expansion and diversification of an established product suite and the development of new web-based products. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with the licensing/acquisitions department to ensure acquisition of ongoing and newly identified collections, as well as with microform/digital services and the editorial department to facilitate collection imaging and creation of supporting metadata. This position will involve interaction on an ongoing basis with current and potential customers to ensure the development of products suited to the needs of the academic marketplace. The ability to write clear and financially sound business cases using supporting data is a must. Qualifications include an MA in history plus 3 years of relevant job experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of archival collections and their organization and preservation imperatives; leadership skills; the ability to work cooperatively with members of various teams; and the ability to multi-task and work under deadline pressure.
